Situation: Audio is not working over HDMI

Possibility 1: The TV/Monitor is not being detected in CEA mode

DMT is only well defined in DVI and DVI can not do audio. Audio only works in CEA modes..

1# run to detect if tv/monitor mode
2tvservice -s
3
4# tvservice -m CEA
5# tvservice -m DMT

Uncomment the following in
/boot/config.txt
to force an HDMI mode. It can make audio work in DMT (computer monitor) modes.

tl;dr

Run this one command in Terminal:

1curl raw.githubusercontent.com/aamnah/bash-scripts/master/install_nodejs.sh | bash

This will automatically run a script i wrote that takes care of removing existing Node.js stuff, downloading and installing the latest version, and cleaning up afterwards. It also confirms the Node.js version once the installation is done.

The Node.js version that comes pre-installed with Raspbian Jessie is old. If you check the version using
node -v
, it’ll give you v0.10.29. The latest ARM-version of Node.js as of this writing is v4.2.1. Let’s remove the old and install the latest version available on our Raspberry Pi.

You have two options:

- [motion](http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/WebHome)
- [kerberos](https://kerberos.io/)

Motion install is pretty much all command line based.

Kerberos is more user friendly, easier to install and has a modern interface

Install motion

sudo apt-get install motion -y

Config

sudo nano /etc/motion/motion.conf

The following settings should do. Frame settings (width, height, framerate) and ports (webcam_port, control_port) are optional. The most important are the two on/off settings for
daemon
and
webcam_localhost

RPi-Monitor is a nifty utility that monitors and displays system information about your Raspberry Pi in a nice-looking graphical interface in the browser.
It can show you how much CPU Load you have, what is the temperature of your Raspberry Pi (good to know in cases where you have overclocked the raspberry pi), Used, Free and Total Memroy (RAM), Used, Free and Total Space you have on both partitions of your SD Card, Used, Free and Total SWAP space (Virtual RAM), how long the Raspberry Pi has been running (Uptime), and general information about your Versions (Kernel, Firmware, Processor etc.) as well as any packages that might need updating.
You can see these as stats as well as Graphs.
